Hands-On – H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE

Presented in 2020, the Streamliner was an instant hit for H. Moser & Cie.  This luxury sports watch with an integrated bracelet stands out with a fluid, smooth design and a personality that did not try to emulate the icons of the category. Until very recently the model had been available with three different movements: chronograph (with the mighty Agengraphe), time-only and perpetual calendar. On the occasion of the Geneva Watch Days 2022, a fourth option was unveiled with the Streamliner Tourbillon Vantablack, dressed in gold and black. The Streamliner Tourbillon is now available in steel, with a limited edition created with Bucherer.

H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE Edition

Being the first limited-edition/collaboration-based created for a retail partner, the Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE is a meaningful nod to the long-lasting relationship between H. Moser & Cie and Bucherer, two independent family-owned companies based in German-Speaking Switzerland. It is also the first version of the Streamliner Tourbillon to be released in steel. For the occasion, its bezel is set with 60 baguette-cut blue sapphires, which brings quite a different personality to the model. Just like the regular collection gold Streamliner Tourbillon, the case is 40mm in diameter and 12.1mm in height. The crown and caseback are screwed, ensuring water-resistance to 120 meters.

If Moser opted for a Vantablack dial for its own version, this Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE features another Moser signature design, with a grey fume dial. With minimalism as a guiding principle, it is furnished with plain markers, no minute track and a discreet logo inked in transparent lacquer. The hour and minute hands have Globolight inserts (ceramic-based material which contains Super-LumiNova). Last, and this is quite a novelty for the Streamliner, a large cut-out at 6 o’clock reveals the hypnotic ballet of a one-minute flying tourbillon.

Inside the watch is the in-house Calibre HMC-804 with automatic winding. Its tourbillon regulator features a double hairspring made with sister company Precision Engineering AG. This solution consists in using two identical, symmetrical hairsprings. The movement of the point of gravity of each spring when it breathes is compensated by that of the other, thus improving isochronism and accuracy. The HMC-804 ticks at 3Hz with 72 hours of power reserve when fully wound. Flip the watch over and the exhibition case back allows you to discover the engraved central gold rotor (with bi-directional winding) and the movement’s beautiful decoration.

H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE Edition

The H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon Bucherer BLUE is presented in an articulated lobster-tail steel bracelet, another of the distinctive elements of the Streamliner. It is secured to the wrist by a triple-blade folding clasp released by a pair of pushers. A limited edition of 18 watches only, it retails for CHF 109,000 or EUR 126,000.
