Boat season is back in action, and with the weather heating up, we’re ready to cool off aboard some of best junk hires and yacht charters on offer. Hong Kong Junks
Highlights: With two unique fleets to choose from (Swissy or Wet Dreams), Hong Kong Junks’ no-fuss, traditional junk party experiences can cater for up to 40 people and offer your usual sound system, canopy, top deck and cushions. Guests are also welcome to bring their own food and drinks if they would like to opt for the boat-only package to keep costs to a minimum.
Package: An all-inclusive package costs HK$850 per person for a minimum of 25 people (weekend and public holidays). Each junk hire includes food throughout the day, as well as a drinks menu of cocktails, bubbles, spirits, beer, wine and mixers. Non alcoholic beer and bubbles can be supplied upon request. Pool noodles, floating matts and SUP boards are also included in the cost.
Highlights: With plenty of options to help tailor your boat party to your individual needs, SEA-E-O-BOATING has over 30 junk boats to choose from, as well as a fleet of luxury cruisers for a ‘fancier’ day out on the ocean. From organising a DJ to fireworks, romantic dinners and even squid fishing, the options are endless.
Package: The infinity Yacht package is suitable for between 26-30 people and starts from HK$1,110 for its Chinese food menu and free-flow wine deal. The package also includes an inflatable slide, trampoline or mattress, karaoke machine, board games, Xbox, servers and boat crew.
Highlights: Providing everything you need for an extraordinary day out on the water, Lazydays has 10 vessels to choose from and a plethora of optional extras such as inflatable toys, slides, flyboards and an onboard masseuse. Additionally, Lazydays upholds green and eco-friendly initiatives to reduce waste. Providing guests with reusable bamboo plates and reusable polycarbonate glassware, the company uses water dispensers, food grade food covers rather than clingfilm, has recycling bins on all boats, and partners with Plastic-Free Seas to help spread awareness.
Package: There are no particular pre-set junk packages, however the website invites you to custom build you own with your choose of boat hire (from HK$15,000 for 25 guests) and F&B packages from HK$300 per person. Add on toys and inflatables as you like.
Highlights: Offering not only junk hires and yacht charters, Island Junks is also on hand to take you on a cruise around Hong Kong islands and put together events for special occasions. Known for its ‘raft-up‘ parties that can host up to 145 people, the company can also provide catering, water toys and an on-board Thai massage for any excursion.
Packages: Island Junks’ all-inclusive junk hires include all food and drink for your day or evening out on the ocean. With its ‘smallest’ boat, IBIZA, accommodating up to 40 people and traditional teak junk up to 50 guests, there’s plenty of room to party. With prices varying depending on your needs, you’ll need to get in touch with the experts for a quote, however Island Junks is currently serving complimentary Prosecco and Aperol with its regular free-flow drinks package, and for those opting for free-flow on an evening cruise to either Lamma or Po Toi Island restaurants, expect to fork out just HK$150!
Hong Kong Yachting
Highlights: Well known amongst the boat party community for its Jungle Jane and Tarzan cruisers, Hong Kong Yachting regularly rents out its unique fleet of junks, sailing boats and luxury charters. Equipped with all of the amenities you can think you, the company also hosts two unique events, ‘Hong Kong Firework Cruise’ and its ‘Container Port Tour’ for those looking for something other than inflatable unicorns.
Package: The Ultimate Junk Boat Package is suitable for a minimum of 40 people and is currently on offer, down from HK$1,073 per person to HK$880! Inclusive of a BBQ food menu, drinks and waiter, guests will also have access to an inflatable slide and trampoline for the day.
JD Yacht Charters
Highlights: New boat booking platform on the block, JD Yacht Charters, knows what Hong Kongers want when it comes to being out on the water. An all-encompassing boat chartering, sales and brokerage service, they have a fleet of over 40 boats available for charter, ranging from traditional junks through motor cruisers to superyachts. Providing catering from some of the best F&B outlets, to organising photography, videography and a live DJ to up the ante, the options plenty.
Package: There are no particular pre-set packages, however the website invites you to custom build you own experience. With boats available to host between 15-55 guests, each includes ice, soft drinks and water and water toys, depending on the charter. Enquire directly for competitive pricing.
