ArteFino has nurtured a community of mindful shoppers and sparked the creativity of Filipino artisans.
For the first time since its founding in 2017, ArteFino Fair curated a Resort Pop Up that highlights the vibrant tropical lifestyle that is distinct to the Philippine Islands. The founders Marimel Francisco, Mita Rufino, Maritess Pineda, Susie Quiros, and Cedie Vargas, share that at any given time, “It’s practically summer all year round in the Philippines, except for a few months of rain. You can plan a trip to any of our beautiful beaches. For us, summer isn’t just a season. It’s a lifestyle.”
What is evident in the products featured at the ArteFino Resort Pop Up are the time, effort and creativity that went into the well-crafted and functional designs. Cedie Vargas notes that this pop up gives a refreshing take on what the fair has to offer, especially in variety, style and color palette.
The all-year tropical weather puts the local design and craft community at an advantage especially when it comes to creating pieces for Resort or Summer living. Weaving techniques of lightweight, tropical fabrics from all over the Philippines are, without doubt, unparalleled. The same goes for design executions on accessories and home accouterments that reverberate with coastal chicness.
Through the years, ArteFino has become a movement that brought to life not only what is now a popular hashtag #LOCOforLOCAL but also the meaningful work done by Filipinos. Behind all the fairs that have been mounted is the in-depth relationship with local artisan communities through the HeArteFino Foundation.
HeArteFino’s Development Program is more than just funding and investing on time and talent to create products. It fosters collaboration and aims to empower the partner communities to create sustainable livelihood and lasting impact for generations to come.
Cedie shares, “The HeArteFino Foundation is the reason why we do what we do. It’s what anchors us.” The thrust remains the same since the return of the fair during this post-pandemic recovery: recycle, repurpose, and regenerate. At the first ArteFino Resort popup, patrons will also find zero-waste fabrics reimagined into lifestyle products like clothing, potholders, pouf cushions, and caps.
For those who might not be able to browse each item at the fair, they also offer a Personal Shopper service via Viber or WhatsApp at +639193545674. ARTEFINO RESORT POP UP runs until March 26 at the North Court of the Power Plant Mall. For more information and updates, follow @artefinoph.
