Skin Care
The secret to getting a natural glow is proper skin care. The luxury brand La Mer has become the go-to for many Academy Awards attendees.
From Best Actress winner Michelle Yeoh to presenters such as Jessica Chastain, Pedro Pascal, and Salma Hayek, the skin care line was able to bring out their youthful radiance.
“The key to achieving flawless skin on the red carpet always starts with hydration,” says Yeoh’s makeup artist, Sabrina Bedrani, who used the La Mer Treatment Lotion, Concentrate, and Moisturizing Soft Cream to prep the actress’ skin.
Meanwhile, Cara Delevingne and Halle Berry’s naturally glowing skin were prepped with the NakedBeauty MD Damask Rose Revitalizing Gold-Infused Hydrogel Eye Mask and the Currentbody LED Face Mask respectively.
Hair Care
Presenter Elizabeth Olsen showed up on the red carpet with a classic Hollywood look—a bold red lip and low sleek bun.
Olsen’s hair stylist Mark Townsend used Phyto products to achieve this look, brushing Phytodefrisant Anti-Frizz Touch Up Care through her hair.
Meanwhile, Ana de Armas’ hair stylist Jenny Cho used René Furterer’s Thermal Protecting Spray and Style Blow Out Balm to protect the Best Actress nominee’s fine hair.
“Los Angeles has been raining buckets, so we needed to consider how to fight this unusual humidity,” Cho says.
Makeup
Best Supporting Actress nominee Angela Bassett matched her regal purple gown with mauve eyeshadow and a matte lip.
Her makeup artist D’Andre Michael used the Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres Longwear Lip Pencil in Rouge Noir to line her lips. He then applied the Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Color in Intuitive to fill them in.
Halle Berry and Jessica Chastain, who presented this year’s Best Actor and Actress, both wore Charlotte Tilbury makeup to the event.
Berry’s makeup artist Jorge Monroy used the brand’s shimmer shadow to match the bejeweled flowers on the actress’ gown.
Likewise, Chastain’s makeup artist Kristofer Buckle paired the presenter’s shimmery dress with bright glitter shadow from Charlotte Tilbury.
