The Return of Zendaya, Balenciaga Reset, Cardi B 'Fits, Ye-Less Stem Player

It’s the weekend, baby!

As the final week of February blurs into March, we can officially say we’ve blitzed through yet another busy fashion month schedule.

This time around, we’ve been left scratching our heads as to whether the clothes even matter anymore as brands chase the next viral moment – it goes for beauty, too!

So, what did the season’s schedule have to offer? LOEWE continued to walk the line between fantasy and reality, while Coperni danced with a robot, Rick Owens did its best COMME impression, Schiaparelli turned heads again, Balenciaga started over, AURALEE showcased more New Balance, Acne Studios got distressed, and skinny jeans floated back into action.

While that might be plenty on its own to keep you busy (trust us, it is), Rihanna teased the return of her Fenty PUMA line, we showed Pedro Pascal and his ‘fits some love, Kevin Hart descended further into meme-dom, Angela Bassett did the thing, brands put their best foot forward for award show season, and Coi Leray styled out.

Amongst it all, the sneaker game kept itself busy; The Broken Arm x Salomon, Nike’s Zoom Vomero 5, MSCHF, Air Max 95s, a size? exclusive New Balance 1906R, Liverpool FC x LeBron James’ Air Max 1, and plenty more.

Well, you’ve got a lot to catch up on, don’t let me hold you up. Catch you on the other side!

Hungry for Virality, Fashion Embraces Beauty

“What seemed like a lifetime ago, Doja Cat attended Schiaparelli’s Spring 2023 Couture show decked out in over 30,000 blood-red crystals covering her head, chest, and arms. The sparkly yet sinister look, executed by makeup artist Pat McGrath, complimented Doja Cat’s Schiaparelli outfit: a scarlet gown whose skirt was constructed from hundreds of pearl-like baubles.”

Balenciaga Is Starting Over

“Balenciaga, once the hottest fashion brand in the world, became a four-letter word by December 2022. Wracked by scandal, Balenciaga’s sales dipped and stores were vandalized as it was toppled mightily from its previously unshakeable throne.”

Oh How You’ve Been Missed, Zendaya

“Though last year’s red carpets delivered a fair share of solid style moments, Zendaya’s presence was undoubtedly missed. The actress was MIA at the events like the Met Gala and Golden Globes, where fans and the press anxiously awaited her stylish arrival.”

From Diesel to Bottega: Our Favorite ‘Fits From MFW

“It’s three down, one to go in the latest round of fashion weeks, with Milan’s busy five-day FW23 schedule coming to a close on February 28.

If truth be told, I wasn’t expecting much from Milan. Naturally, the likes of Gucci and Prada were expected to deliver one way or another, yet the genuine lack of excitement pre-event had me questioning whether it was really worth it.

Well, aren’t I now eating my thoughts? Because Milan banged.”

The Stem Player’s Maker Needs Money, But Not From Kanye

“KANO co-founder and CEO Alex Klein is tired of talking about Kanye.

In 2021, KANO’s Stem Player quickly became KANO’s hottest product when Kanye “Ye” West released much-delayed album DONDA and sequel DONDA 2, as Stem Player exclusives.

Now, just over a year later, Ye made it pretty clear that he blames every single one of his woes on Jews and Klein is in the unenviable position of being compelled to publicly distinguish his company from Ye and YEEZY.”

Fitwatch: Cardi B Keeps Wearing Chanel to Community Service

“Cardi B isn’t perfect but her taste in clothing might be. As she works her way through mandatory community service, Cardi is delivering outfits equal parts insane and awe-inspiring.”
