All In The Family: LVMH’s Bernard Arnault Appoints His Daughter As Dior Head – Lifestyle Asia

The current richest person in the world hands down the highly coveted Dior brand to his daughter, Delphine Arnault.

Having recently surpassed Elon Musk’s net worth to become the world’s richest man, Bernard Arnault has decided to appoint his eldest child to lead the important Dior brand.

Delphine, Arnault’s only daughter, is to succeed Pietro Beccari as chair and CEO of Dior effective on February 1.

Arnault states that “Her keen insights and incomparable experience will be decisive assets in driving the ongoing development of Christian Dior.”

She has previously served on the board of directors and the executive committee of LVMH. She is currently the executive vice president of Louis Vuitton.

As the VP of the popular fashion brand, she’s been known to follow “a calm management style and tends to visit stores when they are at their busiest.”

Delphine Arnault, at 47 years of age, has been working at her father’s business for two decades. The businesswoman has been a member of LVMH’s management board since 2003, as the first woman and youngest person to be appointed to that post.

She also launched the LVMH Prize in 2014, a competition for young fashion designers, so that the group could discover new talents and help them grow their business.

She currently lives with her partner, Xavier Niel, a French businessman. They have two children together, Elisa and Joseph.

Her younger brother, Antoine Arnault, is the head of communications and image at LVMH, taking on the role in 2018. He also oversees Loro Piana and Berluti.

Delphine Arnault’s three half brothers also have positions under LVMH’s brands. Alexandre is the VP at Tiffany, Frédéric is the chief executive at TAG Heuer, and their youngest sibling Jean is the director of marketing and development for Louis Vuitton watches division.

Now at 73 years of age, their father Bernard Arnault shows no signs of retiring from the luxury goods conglomerate any time soon.
