Rihanna

The success of Rihanna’s cosmetics line Fenty Beauty has launched the singer into billionaire status.

Launched in 2017, Rihanna had then taken a break from her music career to focus on this new business venture.

Fenty is lauded for its broad inclusivity across various skin tones, after the singer saw a void in the industry for these products.

Rihanna then released a makeup line with a wide range “so that people everywhere would be included,” she said

According to Forbes in 2021, the company was worth $2.8 billion and 50% belonged to Rihanna.

Jessica Alba

Back in 2011, Jessica Alba co-founded The Honest Company, inspired by the birth of her first child and her own history with childhood illnesses.

The business began as an e-commerce platform that provided alternative diapers and baby wipes. Since then, the company has grown and now sells over 100 products.

The actress has sold a majority stake in Hello Sunshine to a Blackstone-backed media company in 2021. The company was then valued at $900 million.

Witherspoon still owns an estimated 18% stake in the business, making her one of the wealthiest actresses in the world.

Jessica Simpson

Since her days of pop music hits and reality television, Jessica Simpson has been leading one of the most sought-after fashion empires in the world.

Launched in 2005, The Jessica Simpson Collection includes clothing, accessories, shoes, perfume, and luggage. In 2015, the fashion line hit one billion dollars in annual sales.

In the same year, Simpson made a deal with Sequential Brands Group Inc. hoping to expand her business. However, in 2021, the new parent company had to file for bankruptcy.

A year later, Simpson regained full ownership of her company and has already turned the tides.

“My standards, I’ve realized, are the right ones because I know myself … and I know what I can give to the world and it inspires me to inspire people. Honestly, it keeps me happy and sane, the more I do,” she said.
